27-year-old Sarah Burton from the Gold Coast will be one of the youngest competitors at the year’s Pan Pacific Masters Games (3 – 11 November) when she jumps in the pool and competes in Water Polo in her hometown.
The Elanora local said she was looking forward to donning her Gold Coast Groupies cap at this year’s Pan Pacs as they shoot for gold in the women’s 25+ competition despite being labelled a Master at such a young age.
“I guess I do feel a bit strange playing in a Masters competition at my age but I’m really looking forward to playing with the girls and having a good time,” said Sarah.
“To win a medal playing with these girls would be an added bonus to the experience.”
Sarah has been playing the sport since a young age and has gone on to represent Queensland in various competitions.
“I’ve been playing water polo since I was 12 and chose to play it as my weekly sport at Palm Beach Currumbin School growing up,” said Sarah.
“I went on to represent Queensland at the Open State Country Titles in under 18’s and Opens.”
