The basketball courts at Runaway Bay are a busy place this year, no doubt partly due to The Myths and Legends Basketball organisation.

Established in 1987 by a group of former Olympians, the organisation is responsible for 25 of the 115 Teams competing in this years games.

This includes the 70+ men’s team, which as team member Vince Mylett notes, has the oldest competitors bouncing around on court.

“We’ve got an 86 year old and 82 year old playing,” Vince said, “It keeps us all very active.”

The group has allowed sportsman such as Vince to keep in shape and continue their passion for shooting hoops.

“I’ve been playing since 1956 when I was 16 year old, and I’m still out there today,” he said.

Myths and Legends member Jack Gibson says that the organisation provides people of all walks of life an opportunity to compete and have fun.

“The rule is, so long as you can run, you can play” he said, “and some of us can’t even run; we shuffle.”

With over 450 members, Myths and Legends continues to grow, allowing men and women from anywhere in Australia to have a ball and try for some dunks on court.

“If you can’t get a game anywhere else, we’ll fit you in somewhere,” said Jack.

The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta whilst better in some elements but not significant for us.
