Nerang soccer field holds a swarm of colour and a penchant for puns this year, with the Murtwilda’s women’s team kicking up a rainbow storm.

2014 marks the fifth year the Murwillumbah based team has competed in the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games.

Though only five of the original members continue to compete, they make up numbers with fills ins happy to don the iconic uniform

This year, the colourful squad is made up of colourful characters from the east coast of Australia and then some; with team member Amanda “Mando” Bartyn saying that they have players from as far as New Zealand.

“We only met on Sunday, thankfully by the end of the first match we had each others names learnt,” said Mando.

With their rainbow stripe uniform, they are certainly the most noticeable team on the field.

“Some say it’s inspired by rainbow paddle pop ice creams,” said Mando, “really, I wanted pink uniforms because nobody had that, but some of the girls weren’t too happy about being all pink so we compromised with rainbow.”

Ultimately, it seems that with rainbow uniforms comes a pot of gold success, with the Murtwilda’s energetic from their 8-0 and 2-1 wins last night.

“Some of us took a tumble though, we call that a Rainbow Roll,” said Mando, “Ultimately, we have a lot of fun together, and that’s really what our uniform represents.”

The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not momentous for us.
