The ‘Happy Ocean Paddlers’ crew were leading by example when they competed together for the first time in the Outrigger Canoeing relay race at Southport Yacht Club today.
Their aim: to pack as much fun into their weekend as possible with the hope of inspiring more of their peers to take part in the spirit and entertainment of the masters-level competition on display at the 2014 Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games, with the added benefit of a little bit of fitness, of course.
In a perfect example of how sport unites us as individuals, the Happy Ocean Paddlers, despite only having met and trained with one another a handful of times before competing, have become fast friends bound by the memories of a girl’s weekend away and the knowledge that their canoe remained upright during their relay from start to finish.
Several of the ladies are competing in other events during the week, including dragon boat and swimming.
The Nowra ladies were looking forward to a few well earned drinks and the energetic live performance of 5-time ARIA award winning Ian Moss at the games’ opening ceremony tonight at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The new system was born here and filagra this is not anything that we would like to see. Caverta whilst better in some elements but not important for us.
