Melissa Holahan from Wallsend Athletics Club Newcastle has thrown down the gauntlet to fellow Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games athletes.

Melissa is competing in her first masters games for throwing and is possibly the first to break a games record in 2014.

The record for the Women’s 30-34 hammer throw stood at 33.11 metres but has now jumped to 48.17 metres.

“I’m transitioning from open competition into Masters because I am finally old enough.

“I used to come to these events with my parents and now I’m here competing, I’m walking around recognising athletes I saw back then.

“I was born into a track & field family so I’ve been doing this most of my life.”

The throwing category is made up of three events; shot put, discus and hammer throw.

Just last week Melissa broke the 50 pound heavyweight record at a home competition.

Melissa is also competing in long jump and is looking forward to coming back to defend her record in 2016.

The new scheme was born here and filagra this is not anything that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
