Current National Taekwondo champion Dale Bryce from Worrigee in New South Wales will be making his return to the Gold Coast to compete in taekwondo at the Pan Pacific Masters Games in November.
The 32-year-old started competing in taekwondo at a young age and has travelled the world competing in the sport including the recent US Open where he took home silver.
“I started competing in taekwondo when I was seven years old and I guess you could say it started after watching the old Bruce Lee movies,” said Dale.
“When I turned 21 I started pushing myself and focused on the competitive side of it and I ended up making the Australian team.
“I’ve now travelled the world competing in taekwondo including the World Championships in Russia and the US Open where I won silver. I have around 25 international medals so far.”
Dale is now the head instructor at Eclipse Taekwondo Nowra where he teaches people of all ages the discipline.
“I mentor around 200 students at the centre. I teach younger children from the age of two all the way up to people aged 40 and 50 plus,” said Dale.
The recent London Olympics saw Australian Safwan Khalil narrowly miss out on a bronze medal in taekwondo and Bryce said his achievements were inspiring and motivating.
“Safwan and I are actually good friends and go back a long way. I actually refereed one of his first competitive matches,” said Dale.
“I followed his Olympic journey and he did so well in London. He was unlucky not to have received the bronze medal but we are so proud of his achievements.”
After his recent success in the USA, Dale will be hard to beat at this year’s Pan Pacs but he admits he is looking to have a fun week.
“At the 2010 Pan Pacs my friend Mark Johns and I performed really well. I think we went home with two golds, one silver and one bronze,” said Dale.
“I think it’s always good to win but I will be there to have a lot of fun as well.
“I would definitely love to keep competing at the Pan Pacs in the future and maybe also at the World Masters Games.”
The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not significant for us.
