Gary Kirchhofer from Nambour in Queensland will participate in his sixth Pan Pacific Masters Games on the Gold Coast this November when he competes in beach volleyball.

The 52-year-old competed in his first Pan Pacs 10 years ago in preparation for the World Masters Games and hasn’t gone home without a medal since.

“I first went to the Pan Pacs in 2002 as training preparation for the World Masters in Melbourne. There were two weeks between the events and I really enjoyed myself,” said Gary.

“I’ve been coming back ever since and I haven’t played a year without getting a medal. I’m in for four golds this year, so I’m hoping I will be quite successful.”

Gary began playing volleyball in a random encounter at his local gym and immediately fell in love with the sport.

“I originally started playing volleyball in Cairns at a local gym when I was 35-years-old. I was just watching a match sitting on a windowsill and they were short a player,” said Gary.

“They yelled out to me if I wanted to play and I jumped down and joined them and it all started from that day.”

He will be playing in four different teams over the week and said playing with people who he hasn’t met before doesn’t impact his performance but is rather a great way to meet new people.

“I’ve played with people from Perth, Darwin, Cairns and Brisbane and it’s a great way to form new friendships,” said Gary.

“Playing with people I don’t know doesn’t worry me too much. As long as I go out, try my very best and have fun, that’s all that matters.”

Gary believes playing on the beach will do wonders for his body and is adamant he will continue playing at the Pan Pacs for many years to come.

“The best thing about this year is the fact that I’m playing beach volleyball where it doesn’t hurt the body as much as indoor,” said Gary.

“I only live two hours away from the Gold Coast so I can’t imagine not coming down to play in years to come. I’m even tossing up whether to play the World Masters in Italy next year.”

The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
