Events Management Queensland CEO Cameron Hart (L) and General Manager – Sport Services Ryan McDonald (R) open the Check In Centre doors at Jupiters Gold Coast

The Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games got underway this afternoon when Events Management Queensland CEO Cameron Hart opened the doors to the event’s Games Village at its new home at Jupiters Gold Coast.

More than 1,000 competitors, supporters and non-playing officials from all over Australia and the world flocked to the Games Village in Broadbeach to collect their accreditation at the Check In Centre.

Mr Hart said Jupiters Gold Coast was the city’s premier entertainment destination and the perfect venue to host the world’s biggest and best biennial masters games’ Games Village.

“The check in centre is open and we’re stoked to be here at Jupiters Gold Coast for the next 10 days,” Mr Hart said.

“It’s a fantastic facility and the feedback we’ve had from our volunteers and participants has been outstanding.

“It’s a great opportunity to not only showcase Jupiters Gold Coast but to showcase the Gold Coast.”

13,000 athletes are expected to filter through the Games Village from today until Friday 11 November to collect their accreditation pass, lanyard, games handbook, sports program and backpack with the help of more than 200 volunteers who made the process seamless.

There is plenty of sport in action tomorrow including field archery, futsal, golf, lawn bowls, sailing, swimming and volleyball.

The 10th biennial Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games will be held 5 – 13 November 2016 on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

The world’s biggest and best biennial masters games will showcase competition in 43 sports and attract 13,000 participants from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
