Aussie first for ferocious fours in taekwondo

For the first time ever in any Australian competition the taekwondo participants have had the opportunity to compete in two-on-two sparring rounds. In layman’s terms this sees four competitors (two on each team) sparring in the same ring with fighting allowed between any competitor and the opposing fighters.


Vintage is definitely a dusty word

The endurance motorcycle and vintage endurance motorcycle races will turn the ignition off on competition today at Pimpama on the northern Gold Coast. Better known as enduro & vinduro this style of motocross is the fastest growing motorcycle movement in Australia, and has over 130 participants across the three days of Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters competition.


Golden Eagles soar from Papua New Guinea to the Gold Coast

The ladies from the Golden Eagles may be from Papua New Guinea (PNG) but they are not strangers to the Gold Coast or the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games. The team compete together in a local hockey competition in PNG and have made several trips to Australia for various masters competitions since 2006.


1,000 basketballers, 117 teams & 340 games on the Gold Coast

Today saw the basketball competition commence at the Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium. The 2014 competition has seen the highest number of participants for basketball in the Games’ history with more than 1000 players.
