It may be a surprise to some that calisthenics, which incorporates dance, marching, club swinging, and theatrics into one sparkling and highly disciplined sports craft, is as uniquely Australian as Australian Rules Football.
This however is no news to CEO and president of the Australian Calisthenics Federation (AFC) Liz Kratzel, who is responsible for bringing the sport to Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games.
“I think it’s a great way to keep our older participants in the sport,” said Liz.
“This gives them another avenue and helps increase our participation numbers.”
After seeing the performances on stage today, Liz is certain that calisthenics at the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games will only continue to grow from here.
“They were amazing today, very inspirational,” she said.
She is happy to see calisthenics at an older age division find a place, saying that women are now able to continue their passion right throughout their lives.
“Most start when they are three or four and continue to when there are seniors, which is around the mid twenties, with this they can continue beyond that age mark,” she said.
Liz is looking forward to the future of this very Australian sport and how it will develop through Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games.
“It’s really fantastic and a lot of fun,” she said.
“The Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games has given us an ideal opportunity to open and grow our sport.”
The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
