Proving that sport isn’t always about winning, the Southern Star baseball team from New South Wales are swinging their bats for more than medals, as they raise over $700 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

After three wives of the players were diagnosed with breast cancer over the past few years, the players decided to come together and combine their love of baseball with their love of the women who support them.

Wives and organisers Linda Morris and Michelle Eden were proud to see the men don their pink shirts and hit the diamond at today’s competition.

“It’s been awesome, all we’ve done is gone around with buckets and asked for donations,” Michelle said.

“We’ve had coins and notes, some people have given every day that we’ve asked.

“We raised $630 on our trip last year to Adelaide, and now with this we’ve raised $1500 for the cause.”

Linda, a breast cancer survivor, said the sense of community at the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games has been overwhelming.

“Every bit of this helps, if even one family is supported by this, we’re happy,” she said.

The big hearted team hope to lend a helping hand to all, as they take to the field for a new charity next year.

“We want to raise money for all different organisations, and will wear their colours on the diamond,” she said.

The team expressed gratitude for all those who donated and supported them, and are looking forward to future Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games.

The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
