Gold Coaster Karen Smith may have had home course advantage in the Pan Pacific Masters Games rowing competition on Sunday, but her four-year winning streak proves that she’s always ready to blow the competition out of the water.

The Coomera Water Sports stalwart added another single sculls gold medal to her ever-growing collection on the beautiful Coomera Regatta Waters Lake on Sunday.

“You’ve always got to go for the gold. And if you can’t get the gold, you at least have to make the other person work for it,” said Smith.

She’ll turn 50 by the end of the year, but her spirit and obvious athletic ability combine to make her seem much younger.

And she doesn’t see an end to her rowing career.

“I’ll go as long as the body will hold up,” she said.

With a training schedule that has her rowing five times a week, it looks like she’ll hold up for many more Pan Pacific Masters Games to come.

She says the determination for more gold and doing the best she can in each competition, makes training that much easier.

“To aim to win helps you train,” said Smith.

“Especially if you have to get into a single (scull), there’s only you, no excuses.

“You can get quite embarrassed if you’re not up to speed,” she said.

The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
