With encouragement from fellow team members Sydney’s Phil Clarke decided to break the seven-year hiatus from competitive boxing and make his comeback at the 2024 Pan Pacific Masters Games.
And whilst four mates and his sister-in-law made the journey north to cheer him on 48-year-old Phil lost his match on decision and is now looking forward to having a weekend of fun on the Gold Coast.
With the glisten of someone who’s just done a round in the ring still evident on his face and clearly enjoying his first beer in four weeks Phil had nothing but praise for PPMG and the Masters Boxing Association (MBA) for their organisation and always “staying in touch”.
He plans to enjoy a few beers with his mates and to reap the rewards of a few hard weeks training.
