Social training is paying off for the MP-4 mixed tennis team competing in this week’s Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games on the Gold Coast.
The MP-4’s team consists of Peter and Linda French from Adelaide and Murray Fitzclarence and Di Arnot from Sale, Victoria.
They have won three gold and three bronze between the various configurations of the team this week.
“We’re about even today, but we are having a great time,” Peter said.
The training regime is pretty relaxed, with most practices being substituted with cheese and wine.
“It’s just tennis, we have to practice our drinking though,” Peter said.
The team met while competing against each other at the 2010 Pan Pacific Masters Games.
“It was all different teams then,” Linda said.
“[The Masters Games] are all about meeting new people.”
When they decided to form a new mixed fours team Linda and Di brought purple uniforms and the team name was formed, Menopausal Purple.
“We go to most comps and lots of veterans tournaments,” Peter said.
“Wherever we can find them, we love it.”
Murray and Di drove from Sale to compete this week, which took over 20 hours.
“We love the drive, and we have a holiday at the same time,” Di said.
The MP-4’s are looking forward to the rest of the social program as they all love to have a good dance.
The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta whilst better in some elements but not significant for us.
