Paddle specialist, Typhoon 8, is the company behind the power, with many successful dragon boaters sporting their products at the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games.
Fred Fong and his wife, Amy, run one of the most renown dragon boat accessory companies in Australia, respected and loved by paddlers.
Specializing in wooden paddles, carbon fiber paddles, paddle bags, training attire, customization and competition attire, it is evident they are successful as the majority of competitors wear the Typhoon 8 brand with pride.
The business, who is currently celebrating their 10th year, rarely misses a regatta travelling the east coast to an array of competitions.
Kong finds the greatest joy in meeting competitors nation wide and shaping his business endeavors around their needs.
“I love meeting paddlers, they are a friendly mob,” says Fong.
“We come to regattas to connect with paddlers and find out what they want, what suits them and what their demand is.”
