Naming rights sponsor Jupiters Gold Coast is promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for their employees by encouraging staff members to take part in the upcoming Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games (JPPMG).
Staff will be among 13,000 athletes participating on the Gold Coast in November for an event where a gold medal is not the most valuable prize but staying healthy and having fun is the ultimate aim.
Ryan Stoddart is a food and beverage attendant at Jupiters Gold Coast and during the past three years has completed marathons, half ironmans and ultraman competitions.
At the JPPMG, Ryan will be taking part in a whopping 16 events in four sports during the nine days of competition including athletics – distance running, athletics – track and field, indoor rowing and swimming – ocean swim.
“I heard about it [Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games] and straight away I was going to do it no matter what,” Ryan said.
“The games are a fun, active and healthy event.”
Ryan is not the only Jupiters Gold Coast employee participating in the JPPMG with fellow staff member Jason Pointing also putting his hand up to compete in the ocean swim at Mermaid Beach.
Pointing has been doing surf life saving at Surfers Paradise most of his life and despite never having completed an ocean swim event before, thought “why not?”
“I want to finish,” Jason laughed.
“A top 10 finish or at least finishing the event is the goal.”
Jupiters Gold Coast, naming rights sponsor of the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games, encourages staff to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.
Pointing’s boss, Ryan McGuicken, is another Jupiters employee competing in next month’s multi-sport event.
It will be McGuicken’s fourth Jupiters Pan Pacific Games where he will compete with his beloved Surfers Paradise Gorillas in rugby union.
The South African-born Gold Coast local has been playing rugby union for 38 years after taking part in his first game when he was four years old.
Despite making it to the bronze medal match at the 2014 event, McGuiken is not eyeing another medal.
“I want to be involved with the social side of things!” he said.
The 10th biennial Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games will take place from 5 to 13 November at the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
The new scheme was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
