The men’s over 40s cricket – super 8s competition have been graced with some very experienced players in the form of 2012 defending champions Logan Village.
Captain Shane Conradi admits the team doesn’t get nervous before competitions as they play a lot of cricket together.
“We play in a local competition in Logan and we come to this one every second year,” Shane said.
“We’ve just started to go to the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games every alternate year.
“The majority of us also play in the local over 40s competition on the Gold Coast too.”
Logan Village won gold at the 2012 Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games in the over 40s competition but Shane admits defending their title is not why they are here.
“Always hope for the win, but that’s not the reason we are here,” Shane said.
“We are here just to have a good time.”
When asked what advice they would give to other masters players, Shane quipped “just bring plenty of players”.
Cricket – super 8s continues until Friday 7 November at Southport Labrador Cricket Club.
