Greg Holbrook is a lifeguard at Wet ‘n’ Wild, the perfect job for someone who knows what they’re doing around a pool.
Diving is something Greg has been doing since his teenage years and has recently made a comeback to competitive diving.
“I have been back diving now for about three years,” Greg said.
“It was a spur of the moment to enter the Masters Games but I am quite pleased I did.
“I entered the men’s 50+ one metre, three metre and five metre events,” Greg explained.
He then set about finding a synchronised diving partner.
Posting on Facebook, his old diving partner and friend Simone Harley was happy to volunteer.
Simone Harley trained with Greg when they were both teenagers and was excited when the opportunity came up to do it again.
The pair entered in the 35+ synchronised diving and with only a few weeks to prepare together they quickly upped the ante from twice a week to four times per week.
Taking silver was a moment of elation but they couldn’t have been happier for Rohan Blake and Warwick Norman who took out the gold.
“It was an exhausting weekend at the office,” Simone said.
“I even threw myself off the five metre for the third time in 30 years.”
Greg agreed it was a great day in the office, winning three gold medals for the 50+ events.
Taking the plunge is something I’ve always enjoyed doing but I get the same words ringing in my ears every time, “Don’t muck it up!”.
The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not significant for us.
