The PNG Bissols softball team took on Team Japan at Pizzey Park Sporting Complex today

The Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games softball competition definitely has a global appeal.
Over 200 competitors from 11 different countries including Italy, South Africa and USA have taken to the pitch for the 2016 competition.
Ikanau Aumi from the Papua New Guinea Bissols said she has been coming to the event since 2002.
“I really enjoy seeing friends and the event is really a big social get-together,” Ikanau said.
“We know what it’s like so that draws us back each year.”
The PNG Bissols took on Team Japan in today’s (Tuesday 8 November) fixture.
Mayumi Kokayashi said her team members came from all over Japan to compete.
“Everyone’s so friendly here and I enjoy the social side of things,” Mayumi said.
“My first time here was in 2006, however I was only here for business and when I saw some of the girls playing I was determined to return with a team to compete in 2008.
“The game is a little different here so we had to adapt our style.”
The 10th biennial Jupiter’s Pan Pacific Masters Games are being held 5-13 November 2016 on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
The world’s biggest and best biennial masters games showcase competition in 43 teams and individual sports and attract more than 13,000 participants from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
