Laurel Blucher along with husband Tony Guilfoyle and doubles partner Paula Simpson were not quite sure what to expect and deemed their first foray into the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games a fact finding mission.

“We weren’t sure what to expect,” Laurel said.

“This is our first one,” Laurel’s doubles partner Paula added.

“We heard about it through some old fogies at our club. They ended up pulling out but we were committed so we travelled down from Townsville.

“We weren’t sure about how serious it was, a lot of people seem to know each other”.

Yesterday in the singles competition, both Paula and Laurel won silver in their respective age divisions.

After the round Laurel spoke for both of them when explaining their preparation was a bit limited.

“There are only two synthetic grass courts in our town so we had a few hits on that,” Laurel said.

“Some of the other people we played against were very prepared, we just had fun.”

Laurel and her husband Tony will be playing together tomorrow in the mixed doubles.

“I listen to him, he’s in charge,” says Laurel before adding, “well on the court anyway”.

“It’s usually good but it can be stressful.

“But at the end of the day, we go home and recover in a big warm bath.”

As the fact finding mission has ended in a podium finish, these Townsville natives are happy to report back and share their findings on the Games.

“We’ll keep playing as long as we’re able to,” Laurel concluded.

The new scheme was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta whilst better in some elements but not important for us.
