It’s said that behind every great man there’s a great woman and Amanda Russell is the prized possession of the Border Bushrangers Cricket team at the Pan Pacific Masters Games (3 – 11 November).
The team from Warwick is made up your everyday inland Queensland blokes including a few farmers, a policeman, a tyre-business owner and workers for the local essential energy company.
But it has been their manager Amanda Russell that has made their trip to the Coast possible by organising sponsorship for cricket gear, team shirts, and dress shirts for nights at the Games Village.
Border Bushrangers defeated the Hooty Boos 156-120 on Wednesday, giving them a total of three wins and now dubbing them as a contender for the finals.
Player Greg Moore said they’ve been able to enjoy the Coast’s social side with a few team members pulling ‘all-nighters’ through the week.
“They got home at 6:15am on Tuesday, didn’t sleep, then we had a game followed by Melbourne Cup Celebrations,” said Greg.
“But we’ve become connoisseurs as well as cricketers this week, masters of the food and grog.”
The Border Bushrangers have one more game tomorrow (Thursday 8 November) at 1:10pm at Morrie Glasman Oval, and if successful, they will be part of the Cricket 8s finals on Friday (9 November).
The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not significant for us.
