Temperatures at the OZ Sports Centre were rising along with tensions as the clock wound down on the semi final game in the over 30s mixed indoor netball competition.
After 48 minutes of game time the Chiefs and Aged & Dangerous were locked at 23 all.
Aged & Dangerous had just six minutes of overtime to secure the win for a chance at the gold medal.
An enthusiastically vocal crowd got behind both teams during extra time, with Aged & Dangerous pipping the Chiefs at the post to win the game 26-25.
This is the first Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games the Brisbane team have competed in together; however team member Dani O’Connell has been to previous Masters Games with other teams.
“This is our first Masters Games as a team,” Dani said.
“Compared to previous years, there’s nowhere near as many teams as previous years.
“But the strength of the competition has been good.”
Dani’s teammate Renee Troy chimed in, “we had to earn every point”.
Aged & Dangerous took on South Australian rivals Swagat in the gold medal game to determine who would be the crowned the over 30s mixed indoor netball champions.
The new system was born here and filagra this is not anything that we would like to see. Caverta whilst better in some elements but not important for us.
