2012 Australian trivia champion and two-time runner up, Ross Evans, was one of 31 participants at the first day of the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters games competition.

The New South Welshmen has been amassing an envious amount of general knowledge his entire life and Ross was ready to put his brain to the test.

“It should be a bit of fun although I’m not convinced it’s a sport,” Ross said.

He began a career in trivia when he was only 13.

“When I was younger I always had a very good general knowledge,” Ross explained.

“I went on a few quiz programs and things.

“Then life happens and my general knowledge didn’t keep up.”

However over the past couple of years he has reconnected with trivia.

“I’ve got more spare time now because I’m semi retired,” Ross said.

“I’m interested in the history, geography and science end of the trivia spectrum.

“Music and arts have never been my strong point.”

Deciding Australia’s trivia champion comes from the results of the World Quiz.

“The world quiz is held once a year around the world on basically the same day and at the same time,” Ross explained.

“Whoever does the best in Australia with the World Quiz becomes the Australian Champion.”

Travelling up from Sydney to compete was natural with Ross acknowledging the fierce competition between NSW and QLD.

Australia’s trivia champion of 2013 and 2014 Isaac Schultz the Queenslander who Ross will come up against in the individual division.

This is Trivia’s inaugural year at Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games run by the Director of Quizzing Australia, Christian Kelly.

Christian gave a sneak peek of some of today’s questions and here they are.

  1. Which organisation has the motto: Fidelity, bravery, integrity?
  2. What is the topmost colour of a rainbow?
  3. Which present-day European country was known to the Romans as Helvetia?

The new system was born here and filagra this is not anything that we would like to see. Caverta whilst better in some elements but not important for us.
