Trevor Coulter never tires of squash or the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games.

All the way from Hamilton, New Zealand, the 82-year-old is nothing short of excited to be back on the beautiful Gold Coast to participate in his favourite sport – squash.

“I’ve only ever missed one of the events over the years,” Trevor said.

“It’s a great way to meet people, keep fit, and socialise afterwards of course.”

His love for squash quickly became a family affair, with his youngest daughter sharing the same passion for the sport. And after 41 years playing squash Trevor’s desire for the game is as strong as ever.

“The local football club put in squash courts, so I thought well now is my time to do it, and I started playing then,” he said.

“My youngest daughter was 16 at the time and she really wanted to play, so we used to go down late at night after she had finished her homework and play.

“And that is where it all took off.”

Despite his age, Trevor is showing no signs of slowing down and has been training hard in preparation for the world’s biggest and best biennial masters games.

“Back home I usually play four times a week,” Trevor said.

“It’s really convenient, we start at four in the afternoon, play for three-quarters of an hour and by that time it’s almost five o’clock and of course that’s when the bar opens.”

Trevor’s main priority at the masters games is simply … ‘Just have fun!’

“It’s good fun coming over here for every games,” he said.

“It’s certainly a little bit more relaxing than other squash events.”

The 10th biennial Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games is being held 5-13 November, 2016, on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

The world’s biggest and best biennial masters games is showcasing competition in 43 teams and individual sports and has attracted about 13,000 participants from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
