Rod’s locked, loaded and right on target for the 2026 Pan Pacific Masters Games

Rod Amos, a semi-retired military veteran with 46 years’ service and multiple tours of duty under his belt is making the most of time on his hands by pursuing his favourite sport and leisure activities and entering this year’s Pan Pacific Masters Games.

And Rod is right on target to compete this year stepping up for the clay target competition – something different for him at PPMG given he boasts a silver medal in archery from the 1994 World Masters Games.

A member of the Australian Clay Target Association with his club based in Charlton, Queensland, Rod will be shooting in the trap, universal trap and skeet competitions being held at the Gold Coast Clay Target Club in Woongoolba.

A passionate member of the Australian Light Horse re-enactment over many years Rod wears the uniform with pride having been involved in parades all over Australia. Competing in the Toowoomba ANZAC day shoot this year he donned the regalia minus the bandolier and Sam Browne belt and in his words “shot better than I expected”.

Rod is putting in time on the range preparing for the November games to make sure he gives the competition his best shot!
