Every athlete’s goal is to go to the Olympics, but when that just isn’t an option anymore, the 2012 Pan Pacific Masters Games could well become the ultimate field of play.

Or so says veteran Sunshine Coast volleyball player, former Australian representative Roy Bruynius.

“We had to come third to qualify for the Olympics and we came fourth, so we never got to go, but we’re here now and this is our new Olympics,” said Bruynius.

“We want to enjoy the Masters competition for what it is.

“It’s competition, but it’s also friendly rivalry.”

Bruynius started playing volleyball in high school and continued to work his way up through the ranks, all the way up to the Australian team.

He says he sees no end to how many more Masters Games he’ll compete in.

Teammate Peter Marr (63), who started playing volleyball in 1969, couldn’t agree more.

“Maybe I’ll qualify for the 70+ team,” said Marr.

Both men are lifetime members of Volleyball Australia, which shows their commitment to the sport.

Bruynius will also play beach volleyball later this week, which he says is not always the most pleasant experience.

“That sand gets everywhere,” he laughed.

The new system was born here and filagra this is not something that we would like to see. Caverta although better in some elements but not important for us.
