Archer Scott Brice has competed across the globe, but loves nothing more than finding a bullseye in the magnificent Tallebudgera Valley during the Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games (JPPMG) on the Gold Coast.

Brice, 45, from Brisbane, demonstrated his world-class skills as a bowman on the first day of the target archery competition today at the JPPMG.

Besides drawing a bow, Scott also draws plans for medical centres as a project manager, but still finds time for his sporting passion.

Scott has represented Australia for the past 4 years, claiming a bronze medal at the world cup this year in Shanghai. However early indications are that he will achieve a different coloured medal here. Scott was leading through the first day of the JPPMG competition and with a high prospect of winning gold.

“This is my third Pan Pacific games,” Scott said.

“It compares really well to other competitions. It is good fun and a lot more relaxed. I seem to compete better at this competition because everyone is here for a good time.”

Another archer with a similar opinion is Cronulla’s national record holder, Willy Eggermont, 72, who said he would be competing at this event until he cannot move.

“As long as I can walk and pull a bow back I will be coming to the Pan Pacific Games,” Willy said.

“It has a great atmosphere, that’s the difference with this event compared to others.”

The 10th biennial Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games is being held 5 – 13 November 2016 on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

The event showcases competition in 43 sports and is hosting 13,000 participants from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
